The Bahamas’ Dolphins - meet everyone’s favourite
There’s something about the sight of a dolphin that lifts your spirits. They seem to connect with humans on a level no other animal can match. So to actually swim with The Bahamas’ dolphins is surely one of life’s truly special moments.
So easy to do
An added joy of swimming with dolphins in The Bahamas is that they make it so easy for us to join them. Get fitted out with some snorkelling gear and you can swim with the resident pod of pan-tropical spotted dolphin living near Bimini, or the dolphins living in Fresh Creek, Andros. If you head out to the Great Bahama Banks on a live-aboard dive boat, wild dolphin encounters are almost everyday occurrences in The Bahamas. Dolphins are friendly, sociable creatures. You can even meet dolphins without getting wet at our rehabilitation centre on Sanctuary Bay, Grand Bahama.
Many dolphin species
The Bahamas are an important world centre for dolphins. Different species such as spinner, bridled, striped and spotted dolphins, as well as the larger Atlantic bottle-nosed dolphin, are all indigenous to the region.
