Getting around Nassau/Paradise Island

Some of the major car hire companies can be found at Nassau Airport or downtown Nassau; car hire arrangements can be made with companies in the UK before you travel. Local buses (jitneys) are frequent during the day and an interesting way to see the sights of Nassau. Horse-drawn carriages can be hired for historical tours of Nassau. Taxis are plentiful throughout the island and prices are fixed from point to point. See the table below for taxi fares*:

Transfer from Nassau International airport to Paradise Island

$20

Transfer from Nassau International airport to Cable Beach

$12

Cable Beach to downtown

$10

A 5 mile taxi ride

$10

Other options to consider for exploring Nassau are scooter and bicycle hire.
