Bicycle
If you want to explore the towns and countryside at your own pace, you'll cover more ground by renting a bicycle. For modest rates, bikes are widely available for hire at many of the most popular tourist centres and hotels.
Car hire
British rules apply, so driving in The Bahamas is just like driving at home, but with less traffic! Visitors may use their UK licences for up to three months and may also apply for an international driving licence. The minimum age for driving a hire car in The Bahamas is 25.

Scooter
Rent a motor scooter and you and a passenger will have the freedom to buzz around town and the countryside looking for that perfect, quiet beach spot. Scooters are available for hire at many of the most popular tourist centres and hotels for a typical cost of just $25-35 a day. Helmets must be worn when riding motor scooters.
Taxis
You can phone a taxi, flag one down on the street or stroll along to the taxi stands conveniently located at most large hotels and at airports throughtout the islands. But for knowledgeable, professional Bahamian hospitality, always look for the Bahamahost sticker in the taxicab window. Although metered rates vary according to the island you're exploring, they are reasonable and are fixed by law. Surcharges often apply for more than two persons and extra luggage.
